OPTIMIZE YOUR PREPARATION
Introduction

Get your highest level of preparation by aligning your approach to the goals of the Certifying Examination, and by reading and practicing with proven techniques that produce statistically significant improvements in pass rates.
Dr. Argy's experienced guidance dramatically improves the effectiveness of study time, retention and processing of information, and test-taking abilities.

  • The Certifying Examination is designed to measure high-level process thinking and sophisticated communication skills which demonstrate that thinking.
  • Questions on the Certifying Examination are hypothetical clinical scenarios, in both common and uncommon topics, that move through multiple variations at very high speed, with as little as 5 minutes per scenario. Each specialty uses its own list of topics, but the way scenarios evolve in the exam is the same across disciplines.
  • The well prepared candidate must be comfortable and facile with sophisticated skills in three areas: 1) proper preparation, 2) well-organized and prioritized reasoning, and 3) extremely subtle communication skills to convey decision-making promptly, clearly, logically and effectively.
  • The well prepared candidate will be able to organize and deliver information in a clear, concise, comfortable, confident, capable and adaptable manner. These are not innate skills, nor are they taught in residency. These skills are as sophisticated as learning a new surgical procedure, and are most quickly acquired under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
  • Studying for the orals is not optimally achieved with the usual methods of blunt memorization used by most candidates. Dr. Argy therefore has created advanced, original teaching methods, tapered to the needs of the individual, to maximize the efficiency of preparation, retention and manipulation of information, and optimization of test-taking skills, to help you achieve your highest possible level of exam preparation and performance.
