Course Formats in Depth

Private Tutorial: Dr. Argy works individually with you using his 13 years of oral board preparation experience to identify your specific strengths and weaknesses. A personalized plan is developed to help you improve your performance, and that plan is implemented with Dr. Argy's guidance and input. You'll learn how the orals work, what is covered, and get at least 15 practice scenarios to build your presentation skills and optimize your performance. The Tutorial will cover approximately 15 topics, but other topics will be included for further study as part of a list of exam topics.
Candidates with prior board attempts are able to neutralize the negative effects of the prior experience and pass with over 94% pass rates the next time they take the exam.

Full Screen Video Teleconference: review content and/or practice your presentation skills with Dr. Argy from the comfort and convenience of your office or home. Video teleconferencing via the internet is available for anyone who has already worked with Dr. Argy face to face in a Group Session or Private Tutorial. And with advances in technology, you can now get full screen images using your cable internet connection and iChat -- a feature already built in to Apple OS X and AOL. Don't have a Mac computer? I can send you one. Learn more about the hardware and software requirements for doing a Teleconference by clicking here.

Small Group Session (in 2009): you participate with a core group of no more than 15 candidates in a relaxed setting, with focus on discussions/summaries of content and direct access to Dr. Argy. Candidates benefit from collaborative learning, personal attention, and at least 3 separate individualized scenarios, including an initial evaluation on camera, resulting in markedly improved presentation skills, confidence, and familiarity with exam content. The Sessions covers approximately 75 topics.

Small Group Audit (in 2009): excellent method to get a basic exposure to the most current exam material and reliable board exam techniques the examiners want to see. This format allows you to sit in on a Small Group Session as an observer, but does not include any practice scenarios. (An optional 10 minute assessment with Dr. Argy can be arranged in advance at an additional cost of $90.) The Audit can also be done by Teleconference.

Private Group Session (in 2009): you arrange your own Small Group Session! Gather together surgeons in your area (minimum of 8) and Dr. Argy will come out to your location at a time that is convenient for your group. Stay closer to home and work, with less expense for travel and accommodations. If you prefer a group smaller than 6, you can still arrange to work with surgeons of your choosing and meet Dr. Argy in Boston or Dartmouth, MA.
